Short Sale Experts

With many americans facing the very real threat of foreclosure many are looking for ways to avoid it.  One option that has garnered alot of attention in recent months is the short sale option.  In a short sale situation the lender agrees to accept less than the amount owed and avoid the foreclosure process.  A short sale has less negetive effects than foreclosure.  Fannie Mae recently amended their guidelines to allow a two year waiting period for short sale buyer to purchase another primary residence while they extended foreclosure buyers to a five year waiting period.  The National Associaton of Realtors reports that more than 45% of exisitng home sales in the fourth quarter of 2008 were foreclosures and short sales.  RE/MAX Today's Realty is proud to announce that eight agents currently carry their CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) designation from the Distressed Property Institute, LLC.  The NAR also reports that only 12 percent of short sales are approved.  Experts believe that an experienced short sale agent will give you a much better chance of succesfully short selling your home.   Please contact our office for more information.
